The Simon E. Sobeloff Jewish Law Society (Montgomery County Chapter) is pleased to announce an exciting trip beginning May 9 through May 19, 2020, to visit and explore Jewish culture and the legal systems of Great Britain and France.
It will include: a meeting with the editor of The Jewish Chronicle; a tour of the Royal Courts of Justice; a visit to Oxford’s medieval Jewish Quarter; Churchill’s War Rooms; a trip to the Bevis Marks Synagogue, serving the Jewish Sephardic Community since 1701; a night-time tour in the footsteps of Jack the Ripper; a Chunnel train ride to Paris on the Eurostar; a tour of the Marais, a Parisian Jewish neighborhood dating back to the 12th Century, and its Museum of Jewish Art and History; a discussion with Rabbi Michel Serfaty, the founder of the French Jewish Muslim Friendship Association and a breakfast meeting with Dr. Daniel Rouach, President of the Israel-France Chamber of Commerce. There will also be visits to the Tower of London, the British Museum, the Old Bailey, Chataeu Fontainebleau, Versailles and the Palais de Justice.
We are staying at 4-Star Hotels (London – Copthorne Tara: Paris – Mercure Paris Montmartre). Breakfast daily and nine other meals (lunch or dinner) provided. Optional evenings at a (London) West End Theater and at the Moulin Rouge (Paris). All land transfers provided, including the Eurostar Chunnel Train from London to Paris.
